Gennep, Netherlands (18 June, 2025):
Malaysia will become a brand new destination for Creventic this December when the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit hosts the opening race of the 2025/2026 Michelin 24H SERIES Middle East.
Officially announced today, the category’s first ever visit to the Far East will take place during the first week of December with two Creventic Track Days preceding testing, practice and qualifying on Friday, 5 December, and the non-stop 12-hour race itself at Sepang on Saturday, 6 December.
Sepang International Circuit needs no introduction to fans of motorsport, a former FIA Formula One World Championship venue between 1999 and 2017 and a track which has hosted the likes of MotoGP, Super GT, the World Touring Car Cup and the World Superbike Championship.
Located a relatively short distance from Kuala Lumpur, the 5.5 kilometre track with 15 corners serves up fantastic racing with a number of key opportunities for overtaking, not least into the final hairpin and the looped right-hander at Turn One which immediately threads into a left at Turn Two.
Since its inauguration back in 1999, Sepang International Circuit has been a major motor racing venue on the global stage and continues to enjoy a position as one of the most popular tracks in the world – certainly one of the very best of the ‘new generation’ race circuits.
In addition to the announcement of the Michelin 12H MALAYSIA, the organising team at Creventic is equally delighted to confirm over 20 entries have already been received for the first round of the Michelin 12H SERIES Middle East, with many more expected over the coming months.
Notably, Malaysian squad Viper Niza Racing – which is based in Shah Alam, Selangor – is set to field a pair of Mercedes-AMG GT3 cars for the curtain-raiser as the team continues to build its presence in the realms of Michelin 24H SERIES competition.
Also set to field two cars at Sepang will be HRT Performance, Muhlner Motorsport, Absolute Racing – one entry badged B-Quick Absolute Racing – and Vortex 2.0. Team Sorg Rennsport takes it up a notch by fielding three cars. Continental Racing by Simpson Motorsport, Car Collection Motorsport, EBM, Volante Rosso Motorsport, Speedlover, Razoon More Than Racing and 111 Racing are each set for one entry apiece presently.
David Vink, Commercial Event Manager at Creventic:
“All of us at Creventic are absolutely delighted to be making this announcement, our first visit to Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia for the first round of the Michelin 24H SERIES Middle East. The track truly is one of the very best in world motorsport, and the addition of Sepang to our calendar shows the ambitions we have and how we listen intently to our competitors and teams.
“Visiting Sepang is something our staple race teams from the Michelin 24H SERIES have been asking about for a number of years, underlining its popularity, and so we are very happy indeed to deliver this opportunity. I think we can safely say as well we will expect an incredibly strong and healthy grid for the trip to Sepang, with more than 20 entries already received.”
