Germany’s Team Getspeed has confirmed it will make its Hankook 24H DUBAI debut in January, having confirmed at least one Mercedes-AMG GT3 for the event.

The double Nürburgring 24 Hours podium finisher made the announcement ahead of a winter testing program that’s set to start this week, one that includes a Mercedes-AMG Young Driver Test at Valencia on 9-10 November. Three Mercedes-AMG GT3s have been assigned to the program, with one already confirmed for CREVENTIC’s 19th edition of the Hankook 24H DUBAI on 12-13-14 January.

“We have put together an attractive racing program for the winter months,” Getspeed team boss Adam Osieka explained in an official statement. “We are bringing three Mercedes-AMG GT3s to Spain. Two of them will be piloted by a total of four promising young talents who want to recommend themselves for higher tasks.

“…We are particularly looking forward to our debut at the [Hankook] 24H DUBAI. Real long-distance races suit us, as we have proven in the recent past. Now it’s time to fight for victory in this classic too.”

Getspeed has confirmed that Luca Stolz, Fabian Schiller, Anthony Bartone and Martin Konrad will pilot the #9 Mercedes in Dubai. Both Konrad and Stolz are seasoned competitors at the Hankook 24H DUBAI – the former made his first start at the event in 2018, the latter in 2017 – and most recently competed together at the event with Al Manar Racing by HRT in 2023 and in 2022. Both have twice previously started the event from outright pole position, in 2020 and 2023, and Konrad is also a former class winner in Dubai, having taken A6-Am victory with HTP Motorsport in 2019. Fabian Schiller meanwhile made his Hankook 24H DUBAI debut last year – alongside Konrad and Stolz – while the United States’ Bartone is set to make his 24H SERIES debut in January.

Getspeed has also suggested a second Mercedes-AMG GT3 will compete in Dubai, stating “the crew of the second vehicle will be announced at a later date.” If fully confirmed, former Hankook 24H DUBAI entrant AL Faisal Al Zubair is strongly expected to be on the driver line-up. The Omani driver finished 5th overall alongside Konrad, Stolz and Indy Dontje in Dubai in 2022, and joins Getspeed for its winter test program.

The Getspeed Mercedes is one of 33 GT3 entries already registered for the 2024 Hankook 24H DUBAI, including Dragon Racing’s brand-new Ferrari 296 GT3 and 2017 Overall GT Teams’ champion Hofor-Racing
