Following revisions to the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook calendar for 2020, five European races have now been assigned to the 24H SERIES Europe, while four rounds will have potential implications for the 24H SERIES Continents.
CREVENTIC can now confirm the races that will count towards this year’s 24H SERIES Europe and 24H SERIES Continents respectively.
As in previous seasons, five races will constitute this year’s 24H SERIES Europe. Competitors will be permitted one scratch result, be it a race in which they have not participated or their lowest scoring round of the year. Consequently, only the four best results from those five rounds will count towards championship tallies both overall and in-class in the Teams’ and Drivers’ standings.
The European season finally gets underway next weekend with the fourth annual Hankook 24H PORTIMAO at the Autódromo do Algarve in Portugal. Entries are still being accepted for the endurance event on 12-13-14 June.
As per the revised 2020 calendar, the 24H SERIES Europe continues with the re-scheduled Hankook 12H MONZA on 10-11 July, set to take place at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. Following CREVENTIC’s traditional summer break, the 21st annual Hankook 24H BARCELONA will be hosted at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on 4-5-6 September, while on 9-10 October, the Hankook 12H IMOLA returns to the 24H SERIES calendar after a two-year break, and will be held at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari.
The returning Hankook 12H ZANDVOORT brings the curtain down on the 24H SERIES Europe season on 13-14 November, and will be held at the newly renovated Circuit Zandvoort.
Owing to this year’s Hankook 24H COTA USA having to be re-scheduled due to developments in the Circuit of the Americas’ calendar, this year’s 24H SERIES Continents will feature races across only two continents. Alongside the Hankook 24H DUBAI, held earlier this year in January, teams and/or drivers vying for Continental honours are also required to compete at the season-closing Hankook 12H ZANDVOORT on 13-14 November, and at least one of two further races. The best result from either the Hankook 24H PORTIMAO on 12-13-14 June or the Hankook 24H BARCELONA on 4-5-6 September will count towards the 24H SERIES Continents championship standings.
