Two-time WRC Champion Kalle Rovanperä is taking new steps in circuit racing. Rovanperä, who won three Porsche Carrera Cup races last season, is jumping for the first time behind the wheel of a Porsche GT3R and also having his first taste of endurance racing.

”I got to know my fellow finns Jukka Honkavuori and Jani Käkelä during last Porsche Carrera Cup season. We speculated of participating in an endurance race together. Now, three of us, together with Mark Wallenwein and Joel Monegro, are racing at Dubai 24h before my WRC season starts. I’m grateful to all the parties for making this happen. 

Rovanperä has been eagerly waiting for his first outing with a GT3 car, which he sees as the logical next step in his circuit racing career.

”I’m really excited to race for the first time with a GT3 car. For sure there are new things to learn about the GT3 car, and it’s also the first time I’m sharing a car with other drivers. However, I’m confident of finding performance and speed too during the weekend, together with Huber Racing, as 24h race enables us a lot of track time.” 

Christoph Huber, the owner of Huber Racing, is very enthusiastic about the new lineup of the Michelin 24H DUBAI.
