Herberth Motorsport secured the overall GT3 Teams’ and GT3-AM Teams’ championships with its second win of the year and in a “perfect end to a busy season.”
Herberth Motorsport team principal Alfred Renauer has proclaimed the Hankook 24H BARCELONA the “perfect end to a busy season” following his team’s title-winning triumph at this past weekend’s Hankook 24H BARCELONA.
Herberth Motorsport, an outright winner already this season at the Hankook 24H PORTIMAO, came into this past weekend’s Hankook 24H BARCELONA with a 32-point advantage in the overall GT3 Teams’ standings (12 points, minus the obligatory drop score) for its #91 Porsche 992 GT3 Cup. The 2017 Overall GT Teams’ ‘Continents’ champion ultimately secured both this and the GT3-AM Teams’ title with a second win of the year.
Fittingly, the win also secured Jason Hart and Scott Noble, in their first full 24H SERIES season, and Ralf Bohn, already an Overall GT Drivers’ ‘Continents’ champion in 2017, this year’s overall GT3 Drivers’ and GT3-AM Drivers’ titles.
“This is the perfect end to a busy season,” said a delighted Alfred Renauer. “Scott, Jason and Ralf gave their all in the races and put in a strong performance. A lot of things were new for Scott and Jason, but they both worked hard and improved from weekend to weekend. They really deserved the win and the title. We are really proud of the whole team!”

Having qualified 5th overall, the #91 Porsche 992 GT3 Cup actually fell back a few spots during the frenetic opening laps. An opening double stint by Ralf Bohn however meant that, by the end of the second hour, the #91 Porsche was leading, albeit just 12 seconds clear of the Saintéloc Junior Team.
Indeed, from quarter-distance onwards, Herberth Motorsport was engaged in a close, three-way fight for the lead between Hankook 12H MISANO winner Saintéloc and overall polesitter Optimum Motorsport. The McLaren would, regrettably, fall out of contention during the night when its throttle pedal cable snapped, but the lead would continue to swap repeatedly between Herberth and Saintéloc for several hours thereafter.
Strong pace during the night and deft use of the Code 60 caution periods meant that by Sunday morning, and despite an early clash with the Razoon – More Than Racing KTM and a collision in traffic that earnt the team a 30-second penalty, Herberth Motorsport has eked out a two-lap advantage. A cushion that had extended to five laps when the #91 Porsche crossed the line to take the “longed-for victory.”

The result marked the third GT3-AM class win of the season for Hart, Noble and Bohn – who teamed with Dustin Blattner – following similar triumphs in Mugello and Portimão, and, crucially, their first outright win of the 2024, the trio having followed the sister #92 Porsche home in Portugal.
Moreover, alongside its championship wins, victory in Catalunya also extended Herberth Motorsport’s record of outright wins at the Hankook 24H BARCELONA to four, the Bavarian team having also taken the chequered flag in 2016, 2018 and 2021.
Ralf Bohn meanwhile became only the second driver after ’02, ’03, ’04 and ’09 winner Oscar Nogués to record four outright wins at the Hankook 24H BARCELONA. The affable German was joined in victory lane in 2016, 2018 and 2021 by Alfred Renauer and the now-retired Daniel Allemann, by Robert Renauer in 2016 and 2021, and in 2018 by two-time Bathurst 12 Hours and 2024 Daytona 24 Hours overall winner Matt Campbell.
“Of course, it's always nice to win,’ Ralf Bohn explains. “We only made a few mistakes throughout the year and worked well. As always, the team also provided us with a great car. So a big thank you goes to them!”
“I just can’t say thank you enough to the team,” Jason Hart continues. “They’ve made the right calls on the car, on strategy and they worked really hard. This has been a great season, a wonderful journey – Scott’s first year in GT3 and my first full season in the series. We just love it!”
Herberth Motorsport is set to enter a two-car entry for the Michelin 24H DUBAI in January, an event the Bavarian team also won outright in 2017.
