Superstar line-up as the new team tackle Spa-Francorchamps

Teamwork Huff Motorsport is entering the inaugural TCR Spa 500 mile race on October 4th-6th, with three Volkswagen Golf GTI TCRs entered for the endurance event at the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, with top Chinese racing talent behind the wheel.

The TCR Spa 500 is the first endurance event in the world which is reserved especially for TCR cars, with 500 signalling the number of laps which will take place over the 7km circuit, which will come close to being a full 24-hour race.

The TCR Spa 500 will be the first endurance project for Teamwork Huff Motorsport, the new venture between Hong Kong-based operation Teamwork Motorsport, and World Championship-winning touring car star Rob Huff.

It will and the second endurance project of the year counting sister squad Teamwork Motorsport’s successful debut at the 24H Dubai 2019 event in January of this year.
The team will run three cars in the new endurance event, with an all-star line up in two of the cars, while the make up of the third car is still underway, with interest still entertained.

In the first car, three-time China Touring Car Championship drivers’ champion Andy YAN will take the wheel, paired with his regular CTCC team-mate Rainey HE, with the experienced Neric WEI the third driver confirmed so far for the car.

In the second car, 2018 TCR China champions Alex HUI and Sunny WONG will pair up, joined by multiple Macau Touring Car Cup champion Paul POON, and the fast-paced Samuel HSIEH.

The team also confirms it’ll run a third car, with drivers with sponsors invited to contact the team and confirm their interest – speak to team manager Ken Lui on +86 134 2759 1293 or [email protected].

Andy Yan, three-time CTCC champion and 2019 N24 SP8 class runner-up, said:

“2019 has been a year full of great challenges for me, especially in endurance racing. First with the 24H Dubai in January, and the Nürburgring 24 Hours in June, and now the TCR Spa 500 in October, all with different cars and teams.

“Rainey has been a long serving team-mate with me in CTCC, so I’m glad to team up with him again for the TCR Spa 500.

"Sunny was also my team-mate during this year’s Nürburgring 24 Hours, although this time we will be driving in separate cars; but we certainly be sharing our knowledge across the cars in order to maximise our results.”

Sunny Wong, 2018 TCR China and Macau Touring Car Cup champion, said:

“I know the TCR Spa 500 will be a special one, because it’s a TCR-only enduro, on a legendary circuit. I also know a lot of great teams and drivers are joining the event, so for sure we will see many familiar faces.

Teamwork and Teamwork Huff Motorsport have raced in the 24H Dubai and the TCR UK championship this year, and with the TCR Spa 500 we can further apply what we’ve learned, and most of all look forward to another exciting event at a new circuit for us in Europe.”

Ken Lui, Teamwork Huff Motorsport team manager, said:

“We’ve raced in a few new events far from home this year, and the TCR Spa 500 will become another one in our quickly growing history book.

“After racing in the 24H Dubai, and the TCR Malaysia & UK championships, we’ve proven that we can do well, regardless of what region we are in. The TCR Spa 500 is no exception, and I am looking forward to seeing how our drivers enjoy and perform in this incredible endurance event.”
