Home to the Formula 1 German Grand Prix intermittently since 1970 (an event in itself which dates back to 1926), the 4.574km Hockenheimring remains one of Europe’s most evocative circuits, mixing high speed straights and heavy braking zones with an enigmatic forestial backdrop. Despite the venue’s surprisingly thin endurance racing history, the inaugural Hankook 16H HOCKENHEIMRING goes straight in at the deep end, and will count towards both the 24H SERIES Europe and 24H SERIES Continents championship standings in 2020.
Hockenheim of course is just one of THREE new venues announced for the 24H SERIES in 2020 and/or 2021. Alongside the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, which will open next year’s 24H SERIES, CREVENTIC will also revive the long-dormant Coppa Florio in Sicily this October, details of which you can read about HERE. Pre-dating the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Mille Miglia, the Indy 500, the Monaco Grand Prix, and even the sister Targa Florio, this year’s Coppa Florio 12H Sicily marks the first running of the classic Italian endurance event since 1981.
