CREVENTIC opened the 2024 Hankook 12H SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS weekend with its now traditional Malmedy City Parade.

43 race cars, all of which will compete at round two of this year’s 24H SERIES powered by Hankook in Belgium, drove the 10km on public roads from the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps the neighbouring city centre in Malmedy.

For the third year in succession, CREVENTIC showcased its GT and TCE cars in the historic town centre, alongside the famous L'obélisque de Malmedy. There, Malmedy residents and several thousand race fans were invited to get up close and personal with the racing machinery and meet the drivers competing at Spa this weekend for their autographs. As in 2022 and 2023, local bars and restaurants kept CREVENTIC’s typically family-friendly atmosphere alive with food, drink and live music throughout the afternoon.

Among the teams assembled for the demonstration were last year’s outright event winner Saintéloc Junior Team (and 2023 polesitter Haas RT), 2017 Overall GT Teams’ champions Herberth Motorsport (‘Continents’) and Hofor-Racing (‘Europe’), 2019 Hankook 24H DUBAI winner Car Collection Motorsport, and Belgium’s own Red Ant Racing, Speedlover, Hamofa Motorsport, and HY Racing.

“This is the third year in a row we’ve organized the Malmedy City Parade, and every year, the assembled crowd gets bigger and bigger!” CREVENTIC’s David Vink explained. “This parade is specifically for the 24H SERIES’ race fans, and gives them an unparalleled opportunity to see these amazing GT and TCE cars, up close and personal, on the streets. The response we get is amazing, and we’re looking forward to bringing the parade back to Malmedy in 2025.”

After a day of private testing on Wednesday, 90 minutes of Free Practice for the 2024 Hankook 12H SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS will run from 12.10 hrs to 13.40 hrs, local time, on Friday 19 April. Later in the afternoon, 55 minutes of Qualifying gets underway at 15.30 hrs, followed by the first of two qualifying sessions for this weekend’s Prototype Cup Germany support series.

The first five hours of the Hankook 12H SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS itself is set to run from 12.50 hrs to 17.50 hrs on Saturday 20 April, and, following the event’s traditional overnight intervention, the final seven hours will be completed between 10.50 hrs and 17.50 hrs on Sunday 21 April.
