Estoril 2023 magazine now available for download

News | July 4, 2023

Our magazine for the Hankook 12H ESTORIL is now available for digital download. This month, we consider the championship implications heading into the penultimate, European round of the 24H SERIES in 2023. We sit down with Buggyra Racing’s Aliyyah Koloc – a world speed record holder, no less – to discuss the newcomer’s GT4 title aspirations. And we relive RPM Racing’s Tracy Krohn’s very first 24H SERIES race – also in Portugal – back in 2017. All that and more in this month’s magazine.

The Circuito do Estoril becomes the latest racing venue to host the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook this weekend, joining the esteemed likes of Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, Silverstone, Sebring, and the Dubai Autodrome among so many others worldwide in the process. An exciting prospect, given the surprisingly rich history of the former home of the Formula 1 Portuguese Grand Prix over the last half-century.

Estoril’s maiden appearance on the calendar is just one of several reasons why this weekend could prove a landmark for CREVENTIC (and not for the first time in Portugal, as we reminisce with our ‘Remember when…’ snippets). On Saturday, we are set to host a six-hour ‘Qualifying Race’ for the very first time to determine the grid for Sunday’s 12-hour event. Endurance on endurance effectively, with all the enticing challenges that come with that.

Alongside that, this weekend’s Hankook 12H ESTORIL is also the penultimate round of the 2023 24H SERIES European season, meaning all eyes are slowly angling towards championship glory. At the top of the overall GT standings for example, four teams are split by just four points, and our two leaders are level-pegging (that’s just one of this month’s ‘Talking Points’, by the by). Series newcomer Buggyra ZM Racing, in particularly, has been eying GT4 championship honours since round one, and, as we discuss with Aliyyah Koloc, Buggyra is confident it can take the title fight down to the line.

Another team with championship aspirations, RPM Racing is hoping to carry momentum on from its first 992-AM class win of the season at Monza. Ditto Tracy Krohn, with whom we discuss the American entrepreneur’s first 24H SERIES outing – also, coincidentally, in Portugal – back in 2017.

Also in our paddock magazine this month, we’ve got snapshots from the respective 24H SERIES debuts of Ferrari’s 296 GT3, and 11-time F1 Grand Prix winner Rubens Barrichello. We pit Willi Motorsport by Ebimotors teammates Fabrizio Broggi and Sabino de Castro ‘Head-to-Head’. And, fear not race fans, radiolemans.com’s Joe Bradley provides some of his most notable memories from Estoril ‘Behind Garage Doors’ HERE

As always, and before 18 hours of motor racing gets underway, we’d like to thank our competitors and our fans worldwide for their continued support, as well as that of our sponsors and partners, and the team at the Circuito do Estoril for helping to make the inaugural Hankook 12H ESTORIL a reality. Time to make history.
