Ahead of the start of the inaugural Michelin 24H KYALAMI, CREVENTIC will organise a Drivers Parade in cooperation with the Cobra Association of South Africa. The parade is scheduled to take place on Saturday 9 January, from 10:45 to 11:30, ahead of the starting grid opening at 12:00 and the race getting underway at 13:00.
During the Drivers Parade, participating drivers will be taken around Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in a convoy of Cobra sports cars, giving spectators around the track a chance to see and welcome the drivers before they take on the challenge of 24 hours of endurance racing.
Known for their distinctive open-top design and powerful V8 engines, Cobra sports cars have become icons of motoring history. The Cobra Association of South Africa brings together owners and enthusiasts from across the country, celebrating the heritage of these legendary cars through events, rallies and a shared passion for motoring.
Following the parade, more than 50 Cobra cars are expected to be on display in the paddock, giving visitors the opportunity to admire the vehicles up close.
Heinrich du Preez, Founder of the Cobra Association of South Africa, commented:
"Our Cobras represent more than just iconic cars — they represent passion, community, heritage and the spirit of motoring. The opportunity to escort the drivers around the circuit during the parade lap is an exciting way for us to contribute to an internationally recognised motorsport event while showcasing these legendary V8 machines to a new audience."
The Drivers Parade will be one of several special activities surrounding the Michelin 24H SERIES' first visit to Africa, adding to the experience for fans attending this historic race weekend.
