Gennep, Netherlands (28 August 2026):
Six months in the making, having thrilled motorsport fans in Italy, Belgium, France and Germany with some truly top level endurance racing action, the 2026 Michelin 24H SERIES European Series is now preparing for its eagerly awaited championship finale – the Michelin 24H BARCELONA. 

Once again, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will provide the stage for the season-concluding 24 hour race from Creventic across the weekend 18/19/20 September, and the fight for the outright championship, as well as a number of other class battles, really could not be much closer. 

With only a month to go until the drivers and teams reconvene in north east Spain in Montmeló, the combined entry presently stands at 40 cars and, of course, contains all of the major players you’d expect from this most excellent of European Series campaigns.

Leading the way at the top of the overall GT3 standings, with an advantage of 10 points, is GetSpeed Team JR286 with its Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO. The USA-linked German squad rocketed into the series lead last time out on home ground at the Nürburgring after securing a famous maiden victory.

Four other Mercedes-AMG EVOs are expected on the grid in Barcelona, including the sister GetSpeed Team PCX entry – which is fourth in the championship and leading GT3 PRO-AM – and fellow series regulars HOFOR Racing, Viper Niza Racing and Ajith RedAnt Racing. 

HOFOR, winners of this year’s Michelin 12H PAUL RICARD, are third in the overall standings and second in the GT3 AM class battle to GetSpeed Team JR286. With a total of 60 points up for grabs in the season finale, half points scored at 12 hours and full points scored at the end of 24 hours, both the Viper Niza and Ajith RedAnt squads are each still in mathematical contention.

Sainteloc Racing, currently second in GT3 overall, is the lead Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II entry and also third in GT3 PRO-AM. Continental Racing by Simpson Motorsport, who are fourth in GT3 AM, and Juta Racing will also be on the grid in Barcelona with their Audi R8s. 

Up2Race, which made an incredible Michelin 24H SERIES European Series debut at the Nürburgring with its Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) EVO finishing second overall, having led overnight after part one of the 12-hour contest, are entered as is the similar Porsche of reigning European Series Champions Proton Competition. The latter currently sit fifth in the GT3 standings and second in PRO-AM. 

Bringing yet more strength to the Porsche ranks will be welcome series returnees Car Collection Motorsport, while 992 class title contenders Mühlner Motorsport will also compete in GT3 with a Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) EVO.

Three more marques will also be present, Era Motorsport brings its Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO and Spain’s very own E2P Racing competes with its Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 EVO. HAAS RT is confirmed with its BMW M4 GT3 EVO and new for 2026 team Gamota Racing, from Slovakia, will make its Michelin 24H SERIES debut with another BMW M4.

Heading into the Michelin 24H BARCELONA the standings in the 992 class, exclusively for Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992 I) cars, appear to show a healthy lead for the Red Camel-Jordans.nl squad and, on paper, this is certainly true with a cushion of 24 points.

But chief rivals Mühlner Motorsport, two time race winners this year like Red Camel, go into the fifth and final round of the campaign with the team’s No.921 car having zero points to drop before final points totals are calculated. This, of course, is as a result of the very unfortunate high-speed accident which eliminated the Mühlner Porsche from the Michelin 12H NÜRBURGRING.

Third in the 992 championship, and leading 992-AM, is the No.928 entry from HRT Performance, another with no points to drop, and the squad also enters two other cars for Barcelona. The No.930 Porsche will be on the grid, as will the returning No.974 car of QMMF by HRT Performance, winners of 992-AM this year at Mugello and Spa.

RPM Racing and the No.888 car of Seblajoux Racing, fourth and fifth respectively in the overall 992 battle, are entered and the latter team will also field its No.910 Porsche. Three further entries are confirmed from Van Berlo by CP Motorsport, Holmgaard Motorsport and Team Sorg Rennsport.

Three GT4 cars are on the initial entry for round five, headed by Michelin 12H PAUL RICARD class winners Circuit Toys with the squad’s Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2. The two other cars each make their season debuts, a CP Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 (G82) and a Team Sorg Rennsport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

Only four points separate season-long rivals Not Only Motorsport and asBest Racing in the TCE-TCX class, with the Ligier JS2 R squad and asBest’s SEAT Leon Cup Racer having shared the wins evenly over the previous four events. The title is all-but guaranteed to either one of them, but competition will be fierce with a strong TCE-TCX entry of nine cars.

asBest also brings its Cupra TCR DSG, third in the championship, and its Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS (982) which is fourth in the standings, while J-Mec Engineering returns to action with its BMW M3 E46. Four further cars will be 2026 European Series debutants, Cupra TCR DSG entries from CP Motorsport and Stanco&Tanner Motorsport, plus a pair of Honda Civic Type R (FL5) racers from THRW Honda Racing. 

Two CR Track Days will begin the week’s build-up to the Michelin 24H BARCELONA on Wednesday, 16 September, and Thursday, 17 September. Further free practice will take place ahead of qualifying on Friday, 18 September, with a night practice of 90 minutes also scheduled.

Then, on Saturday, 19 September, the final race of the 2026 Michelin 24H SERIES European Series will get underway at 12.00 local time. Support race action will come from Radical Cup Europe, the final event of its season which also features the Radical World Finals.

Outside the impressive track schedule there is a huge amount for spectators to enjoy within the paddock as well – including some VIP opportunities. Driving simulators, tyre change challenges and reaction tests will be complemented by a car tuning show in the Fanzone and there will be plenty of food trucks and refreshment providers.
