24H SERIES stalwart Bas Koeten Racing expects to be a “winning combination” at this year’s TCR SPA 500.
The Dutch racing specialist claimed the TCR Drivers’ trophy in the 2018 24H TCE SERIES Europe with Antti Buri. En-route, the team took four wins from seven outings, the penultimate of which was secured at Spa-Francorchamps.
With a race winning pedigree in sprint and endurance racing for touring cars and GTs alike, Bas Koeten Racing believes its three-car line-up will be among the front-runners throughout the 4-5-6 October weekend.
“We have proven to be successful at Spa and will aim for nothing but victory,” explained team manager, Jelle Koeten. “We won the [Hankook] 12H SPA in 2017 and 2018, and are looking for the same result at the TCR SPA 500.
“Our first race at the circuit was more than 15 years ago, and we’ve competed there many times since then, usually spending three or four weekends per season on this magical track. So we know what it takes to do well at Spa.
“With an experienced technical and tactical crew, and a strong driver line-up, we could be a winning combination in this unique challenge.”
Bas Koeten Racing’s three-car entry for the 2019 TCR SPA 500 includes a stand-alone Audi RS3 LMS as well as two CUPRA TCRs for TOPCAR Sport and long-time affiliate, NKPP Racing.
