Teams entered in the GT4 and TCR categories for the 2023 Hankook 12H MONZA will also have the opportunity to race for ‘GTTC’ honours this weekend.

The GTTC division will run as a one-off for the third European round of this year’s 24H SERIES powered by Hankook in a bid to introduce further competition for the GT4 and TCR entrants. Balance of performance parameters for the TCR class will be adjusted accordingly to keep racing tight across the full 12-hour race. 

Casper de Kort, CREVENTIC sporting coordinator: “The decision was made to introduce ‘GTTC’ on an exploratory basis for this weekend’s Hankook 12H MONZA to add yet further competition for our teams in GT4 and TCR. We felt this weekend was a good opportunity appraise this format. The plan is to run GTTC as a one-off at Monza and revert back to our established ‘TCE’ division for the final European rounds of the season at Estoril and Barcelona, but CREVENTIC would be open to running GTTC again in the future if the overall feedback we receive is positive.”

Points will continue to be awarded as normal at the Hankook 12H MONZA, with 40 points available for the GT4 and TCR class winners, 36 for the runners-up, and 32 for the team in 3rd place. No additional points will be awarded for the overall GTTC winner.

Similarly, points earned by GT4 entrants, as before, will be added to their GT European Trophy totals, while points for the TCR teams will go towards their TCE European Trophy standings.

Holmgaard Motorsport (#102), the TCR class winner last time out at the Hankook 12H SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, will be looking for its third 24H SERIES win this weekend, and its second in succession for its CUPRA Leon Competición TCR. Across in GT4, reigning GT4 Teams’ ‘Europe’ champion Team ACP – Tangerine Associates (#421) makes its return to the 24H SERIES with its BMW M4 GT4, and will face stiff competition from current standings Buggyra ZM Racing (#416) and South Korea’s Atlas BX Motorsport (#403), both of which will run a Mercedes-AMG GT4 this weekend. Autorlando Sport meanwhile has entered a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport for its 24H SERIES debut. 

After two hours of Free Practice that morning, Qualifying for the 2023 Hankook 12H MONZA will begin at 15.00 hrs local time on Friday 9 June ahead of the race start at 12.00 hrs on Saturday 10 June. Following CREVENTIC’s traditional overnight intervention, the Hankook 12H MONZA will resume at 10.30 hrs on Sunday 11 June and will run uninterrupted until the chequered flag is flown at 16.00 hrs later that afternoon.
