CREVENTIC regrets to announce that local Dutch COVID-19 restrictions do not allow any events to take place at the CM.com Circuit Zandvoort and is happy to announce that an alternate location for the season finale has been found at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello in Italy.
The Hankook 12H Mugello will now replace the Hankook 12H ZANDVOORT on 13-14 November 2020 with a compact split-race format.
Peter Freij, CREVENTIC Operational Manager: “We were looking forward to our return to the CM.com Circuit Zandvoort and are sad to confirm that the race is not allowed to take place. However, in these difficult circumstances, we have full understanding towards the local restrictions and decisions and would like to extend our thanks to the staff of Zandvoort for their cooperative approach throughout the entire process. We are very happy that Mugello was available for the same date on such short notice. We know the circuit from many years of splendid cooperation, they know our series and it is a perfect fit for our championship finale. These times require a certain amount of flexibility and we are positive that we can offer a race on the same weekend.”
The 24H SERIES powered by Hankook will return to Mugello for the sixth time since the inaugural Hankook 12H MUGELLO in 2014. For the first time, the race will be held in the Autumn, all previous editions having taken place in March.
The Hankook 12H MUGELLO is now the final round of both the 24H SERIES Europe and 24H SERIES Continents in 2020, meaning all class and overall championships will be decided on 13-14 November at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello.
CREVENTIC is confident that many teams and cars that initially entered the race in Zandvoort will join the race in Mugello. Entering the race is still possible for both local and international competitors via the 24H SERIES website.
Additionally to the various GT and Touring-car classes of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook, CREVENTIC decided to accept prototype cars for the Hankook 12H MUGELLO.
Peter Freij, CREVENTIC Operational Manager: “We have made the decision to accept Group CN, PX and P3 spec cars in the 12H MUGELLO 2020. Based on various requests we are confident that these sports-cars will add their flavour to the entry list."
The prototype-spec cars will compete in the PX-class, but will also be eligible to challenge the GT-cars for the overall podium of the Hankook 12H MUGELLO.
Having developed and applied a COVID-19 safety protocol in all European rounds of 2020, where the measures introduced by CREVENTIC have proven to provide for a safe environment, the measures of the protocol will also be applicable in Mugello.
