Gennep, Netherlands (16 May 2025):
Race three of the fantastically competitive 2025 Michelin 24H SERIES European Series, the Michelin 12H MISANO, is just a week away with excitement rightly building for the category’s second visit in as many months to glorious Italy.

Situated a stone’s throw from the Adriatic Sea, Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli is a popular venue for competitors and race fans alike and as the European Series reaches its halfway point, the third event of the campaign will mark only the second ever staging of the Michelin 12H MISANO.

Things couldn’t realistically be closer in the overall GT3 Championship going in to Misano, with GT3-AM class leaders HOFOR Racing and GT3 PRO-AM pace-setters Scuderia Praha tied at the top of the standings on 46 points.

HOFOR’s No.11 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, piloted by husband and wife Alexander and Chantal Prinz, her father Michael Kroll plus Maximilian Partl, and Praha’s Ferrari 296 GT3, raced by Miroslav and Matus Vyboh, Dennis Waszek and Josef Kral, will surely be battling at the front once again.

The same goes for Era Motorsport’s Ferrari 296 GT3 which, in the hands of Kyle Tilley, Dwight Merriman, Ryan Dalziel and Jake Hill, is only two points shy of its main rivals in the outright title battle. For Misano, Hill is replaced in the line-up by Nico Verdonck.

Last year’s inaugural 12-hour race at Misano ended with a one-two for Audi, and 2024 runner-up Juta Racing will be looking to go one better this time around with its Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II, driven by Tim Muller, Nicola Michelon and Arunas Geciauskas. The team is presently fifth in the overall standings and tied at the top with HOFOR in GT3-AM.

Further Audi presence comes from HAAS RT, with Jef Machiels and Peter Guelinckx teaming-up in the No.21 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II, and Continental Racing by Simpson Motorsport’s entry which features Vasily Vladykin, Andrey Solukovtsev and David Pogosian. Both squads will be hoping for a much more straightforward event in Italy after experiencing major misfortune last time out at Spa.

In addition to HOFOR Racing, two more Mercedes-AMG entries are registered with Viper Niza Racing represented by Douglas Khoo, Dominic Ang and Melvin Moh. The other Mercedes will be run by Red Ant Racing with drivers Yannick and Ayrton Redant, Kode de Breucker and Kenneth Heyer.

Red Ant is another team looking to bounce back from a luckless trip to Spa-Francorchamps last month, while Viper Niza will be determined to continue the sort of performance which delivered a strong top six overall result in the Ardennes.

Proton Huber Competition has entered with its Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) for Jorg Dreisow, Manuel Lauck and Klaus Bachler, and E2P Racing will challenge with Paolo Burguera, Antonio Sainero and Oliver Campos in its Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 EVO.

Always superb, the 992 class for Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) cars is almost in double figures and the entry is headed by dominant championship leaders Red Camel-Jordans.nl with the line-up of Rik and Luc Breukers, their father Ivo Breukers and Fabian Danz.

Second placed RPM Racing, who are going for a third straight class race win this season in 992-AM, will challenge again with Tracy Krohn, Niclas Jonsson and Philip Hamprecht. Holmgaard Motorsport, third in the overall 992 standings, are looking to battle hard with Magnus Holmgaard and Jonas Holmgaard, Martin Vedel Mortensen and Patrick Steen Rasmussen,

Muhlner Motorsport, which experienced high drama at Spa, brings its No.921 car for Martin Rump and Valters Zviedris, while Ajith Kumar, Fabian Duffieux and Mathieu Detry will again run with the Ajith Kumar Racing by Red Ant squad. Additionally, 9und11 Racing fields the quartet of Georg Goder, Ralf Oehme, Moritz Oehme and Martin Schluter.

Sebastien Lajoux will race his eponymous SebLajoux Racing Porsche with Stephane Perrin, and at Van Berlo Motorsport by Bas Koeten Racing the line-up features the family trio of Marcel, Glenn and Kay van Berlo. Escuderia Faraon has entered Pablo Bras Silvero, Pedro Miguel Lourinho Bras and Fernando Gonzalez Gonzalez.

Championship leading team in the GT4 class, Venture, will be eyeing more success at Misano with its Mercedes-AMG GT4 and the consistent line-up of Matthew George, Matthew Higgins, Neville and Christopher Jones.

There will be some new competition for Venture in GT4 as well with the NM Racing Team’s Mercedes-AMG GT4 which only has Keith Gatehouse presently confirmed on the driver list. Points leaders in GTX and class winners of the Spa race, Vortex V8’s No.701 Vortex 2.0, are confirmed with the squad’s usual trio of Lionel Amrouche, Philippe Bonnel and Cyril Calmon.

Two Creventic Track Days will begin the action at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on Wednesday, 21 May, and Thursday, 22 May. Testing, free practice and qualifying will take place on Friday, 23 May, with the three sessions for 992, GTX, GT4 and TCE-TCX beginning at 15.30 local time. The three sessions for the headline GT3 category are scheduled to get underway at 16.40.

On Saturday, 24 May, the Michelin 12H MISANO will get underway at 09.30 local time and the entire 12-hour contest, as well as qualifying the day before, will be LIVE online at Creventic Motorsports TV via YouTube. Live timing, qualifying and race broadcasts can also be accessed at www.24hseries.com
