•    Italy to welcome traditional European Series curtain-raiser next month
•    Quality entry of 31 cars primed to get 2026 championship underway
•    Premier GT3 class headed by reigning Champions Proton Competition
•    Split race to begin new campaign over the weekend 21/22 March

Gennep, Netherlands (6 March 2026):
Global motorsport’s most engaging and entertaining multi-class endurance racing championship, the Michelin 24H SERIES European Series, will begin its 2026 season just a fortnight from now when the glorious Tuscany region in Italy hosts the Michelin 12H MUGELLO.

So far, 31 cars are entered for round one of the campaign which will surely be every bit as exciting and unpredictable as last year’s event with major marques such as Audi, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin and Lamborghini all battling for outright GT3 victory.

Three Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) cars will be present with reigning European Series Team Champions Proton Competition topping the list. Herberth Motorsport, the second placed team in the recent Michelin 24H SERIES Middle East Trophy and Champions of GT3 PRO-AM, will enter two Porsches for round one of the new European campaign.

Continental Racing by Simpson Motorsport, who finished third in GT3-AM at Mugello last year and then claimed the GT3-AM crown in the 2025/2026 Middle East Trophy, brings its Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II with further Audi entries from fellow series regulars HAAS RT and Sainteloc Junior Team.

HOFOR Racing, Viper Niza Racing and Ajith RedAnt Racing will be fielding Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO cars and each of those contenders have the very real capability of big results. Adding more flavour to the GT3 entry will be fellow Mercedes squads Getspeed, who will mount a double attack with a pair of Mercedes-AMGs, and retuning Italian team MP Racing.

Era Motorsport, which finished third overall and second in the GT3 PRO-AM class at Mugello last season, is the sole Ferrari 296 GT3 entrant while E2P Racing will bring its trusty Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 EVO to L’autodromo del Mugello. ARC Bratislava, who finished second in GT3-AM in last season’s event, will challenge with its very familiar yellow Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO.

The 992 class welcomes an impressive field of eleven cars for the Mugello opener. Returning top three finishers from the 2025 visit include Red Camel-Jordands.nl, RPM Racing — who took 992-AM success — and SebLajoux Racing, who make a double entry this time around alongside fellow French squad Chazel Technologie Course. HRT Performance makes a major statement with no fewer than three entries, fielding two of their own cars alongside the sister QMMF by HRT Performance entry, while Mühlner Motorsport and home Italian outfit The Driving Experiences add further depth to the category. Completing the 992 line-up are Holmgaard Motorsport from Denmark, strengthening what promises to be a fiercely competitive class battle.

Fittingly, for the trip to Italy, Maserati will be represented in the GTX class thanks to Dinamic Motorsport which will compete with its Maserati MC20 GT2. Italian outfit PB Racing adds a distinctive touch to the GTX class with its Lotus Exige V6 Cup R, marking a welcome addition to the grid. Michelin 24H SERIES stalwarts Vortex V8 have entered twin Vortex 2.0 entries. In TCE-TCX asBest Racing brings its SEAT Leon Cup Racer which will be challenged by the striking Ligier JS2 R of Italian team Not Only Motorsport.

As part of the eagerly awaited opening round of the 2026 Michelin 24H SERIES European Series, the event timetable also features supporting action from the Creventic organised Prototype Cup Europe, for its first meeting of the season, as well as Radical Cup Europe and TCR Europe.

Michelin 24H SERIES action will begin with two CR Track Days on Wednesday, 18 March, and Thursday, 19 March. Free practice and qualifying will take place on Friday, 20 March, with three sessions for the 992, GT4 and TCE-TCX classes and three further sessions for the GT3 entries.

On Saturday, 21 March, the first five and a half hours of the Michelin 12H MUGELLO will begin at 12.10 local time. Following an overnight break, the concluding six and a half hours will get underway at 12.00 local time. Qualifying and racing will be broadcast live at Creventic Motorsports TV on YouTube with links to the coverage and live timing available at www.24hseries.com
