GENNEP (3 June, 2024) – Interest in CREVENTIC’s long-awaited return to Misano continues to rise heading into the summer break, with more than 30 cars already confirmed for the returning Hankook 12H MISANO on 5-6 July.

As part of its TCE-only endurance racing program in 2017, the 24H SERIES was hosted for the first – and, to-date, only – time at the World Circuit Misano Marco Simoncelli in July, seven years ago. With five weeks left before the green flag drops, myriad GT teams, including reigning and former series champions, plus two outright winners of the Hankook 24H DUBAI, have already expressed an interest in the revived event.

Entries are still being accepted for the 2024 Hankook 12H MISANO. Interested teams can contact CREVENTIC directly at [email protected] and/or via +31 485 471 166.

GT3

After a commanding 1-2 finish at Portimão, the Bavarian team’s first overall 24H SERIES win since 2021, Herberth Motorsport (#91) has moved to the top of the GT3 Teams’ standings heading into the 2024 Hankook 12H MISANO. The 2017 Overall GT Teams’ ‘Continents’ champion will compete in Italy with at least one 992-generation Porsche GT3 R.

Boem by Kessel Racing (#8) will make its second 24H SERIES start of the season (and, fittingly, its second in Italy) in Misano. The Swiss team’s Ferrari 296 GT3 made an impressive series debut earlier this year in Mugello, securing overall pole position, a top five finish overall, and GT3-Pro/Am class victory

Reigning GT3 Teams’ champion Haas RT (#1) makes its 24H SERIES return in Misano following a one-round break. The Antiguan team already has an overall podium to its name this season, the Audi R8 GT3 EVO II this year having finished 2nd at the Hankook 12H SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS in April.

The on-going fight for GT3-Pro/Am title honours meanwhile could reach new heights in Misano. E2P Racing (#90) now leads the GT3-Pro/Am Teams’ standings, and will hope to extend its podium-finishing run with its Porsche 991.2 GT3 R on the Adriatic coast. The Spanish team took its maiden GT3 class win in Spa, and also finished 3rd in-class at both Mugello and Portimão.

Despite its absence from the season opener in Mugello, the Saintéloc Junior Team (#18) currently lies 2nd in the GT3-Pro/Am standings having finished 2nd in-class at Spa and Portimão. An overall winner at last year’s Hankook 12H SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, Saintéloc will be eying its first win of the season with its Audi R8 GT3 EVO II.

A returning Juta Racing (#71) will also represent Ingolstadt in Misano. The Lithuanian team currently lies 3rd in the GT3-Pro/Am standings following class podiums – and, interestingly, two consecutive overall 7th place finishes – in Mugello and Spa.

Lithuanian compatriot RD Signs – Siauliai racing team (#69) is set to make its series return in Misano. Though gearbox issues sadly forced an early retirement for the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 in Belgium (whilst battling for 3rd overall, no less), RD Signs started its first full GT3 campaign with CREVENTIC in Mugello with an encouraging top five finish in GT3-Pro/Am.

Fellow Sant’Agata customer ARC Bratislava (#44) was similarly impressive at Spa-Francorchamps, qualifying on the second row and even leading the event outright in the early stages before dropping back in the changeable conditions. Frontrunning pace the Slovakian team will hope to replicate in Misano.

2009 24H DUBAI winner Land Motorsport (#34) made a welcome return to the 24H SERIES at Spa-Francorchamps. The German team will look to improve upon that 5th place in GT3-Am with its Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II, and, potentially, secure its first class win since last year’s Hankook 24H BARCELONA.

2017 Overall GT Teams’ champion Hofor-Racing (#11) continues its full European campaign with CREVENTIC in Misano. A first podium finish of 2024 for the Mercedes-AMG GT3 would help bring the Swiss team’s recent run of bad luck to an end.

Series debutants PTT Racing (#74) and Prime Speed Sport (#42) round out the GT3 entrants thus far, and are set to make their 24H SERIES debuts on 5-6 July. Poland’s PTT Racing, following several seasons in the ESET Cup Series and a recent campaign in the GT Winter Series, has registered a Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO for its first 24-hour motor race. New Zealand’s Prime Speed Sport meanwhile has registered the field’s only Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 for its first endurance event outside Australasia.

992 (and TCX)

Fresh from its 1-2 finish in Portimão, 2022 992 Teams’ ‘Europe’ champion Red Ant Racing is currently 1st and 2nd in the overall 992 Teams’ standings heading into the Hankook 12H MISANO. With three successive class wins to its name so far in 2024, the Belgian team’s #903 Porsche also leads the sister #904 992 GT3 Cup in the championship standings.

Reigning 992-Am Teams’ champion RPM Racing (#907) similarly leads the way in the 992-Am class standings heading into Misano. The German team bounced back from a heavy collision in Mugello to take a podium in Spa and 992-Am victory in Portimão.

Like Red Ant Racing, 992 championship contender – and 24H SERIES staple – HRT Performance has also registered two Porsche 992 GT3 Cups for Misano (#928 and #967). Victorious in 992-Am at Spa, the German team will be gunning for its first overall 992 podium of the season on the Adriatic Coast.

In what is proving to be an incredibly tight fight for 992-Am championship honours, RPM currently leads the 992-AM standings by just six points over SebLajoux Racing by DUWO Racing (#908) and the Orchid Racing Team (#917). The French team, which continues its collaboration with 2017 CUP1 Teams’ champion DUWO Racing this season, took its first 992-class podium last time out in Portugal. Switzerland’s Orchid Racing Team meanwhile, a podium finisher in Mugello with its #963 Porsche, will look to bounce back from a troubling run in Portimão.

Italy’s Ebimotors (#973) returns for its second 24H SERIES start of the season in Misano. The Cermenate-based team finished a fighting 2nd in 992 in Mugello, and will look to continue that momentum at its second home endurance race of the season.

Red Camel-Jordans.nl (#909) took its first podium of a troubled campaign last time out, and rounds out the 992 field thus far. Interestingly, the Dutch team is one of only two teams registered for the 2024 Hankook 12H MISANO that also competed with CREVENTIC at Misano in 2017. The other is CWS (#178), which plans to run its tenured Ginetta G55 GT4 in the TCX category.

GTX and GT4

Current standings leader Vortex V8 and the returning 9und11 Racing are on course to continue their GTX rivalry at CREVENTIC’s fourth European round of the year.

Vortex (#701), competing in its first full endurance racing program with the brand-new Vortex 2.0, took back-to-back class wins in Spa and Portimão – including a 1-2 finish in the Ardennes – and started the season strongly with 2nd in-class in Mugello. 9und11 Racing (#719) meanwhile finished 3rd in Spa, one month after a hard-fought class win in Mugello with its bespoke Porsche 991.II GT3 Cup MR.

Across in GT4, last year’s class runner-up Buggyra ZM Racing (#416), like Red Ant Racing, is currently unbeaten in 2024, and will be eyeing a fourth successive class win for its Mercedes-AMG GT4 in Italy.

Championship rival Lionspeed GP (#424) will offer its Czech rival stout resistance as it looks to secure its own first of the season – the German team’s first as a standalone entity – with its Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

Having joined Buggyra and Lionspeed on the grid at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium’s Hamofa Motorsport (#419) is set to make its series return on 5-6 July, having registered a BMW M4 GT4 for Misano.

Belgium’s StreetArt Racing (#456) and Germany’s Schnitzel Alm Racing round out the GT4 entrants thus far, and are gearing up for their 24H SERIES debuts in Misano with an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 and a Mercedes-AMG GT4 respectively.

The 24H SERIES at Misano. A short history

Held for the first time in 2017, the Hankook 24H MISANO was the third round of an experimental, TCE-only program organized by CREVENTIC.

Spain’s MONLAU COMPETICION took its second consecutive win of the 2017 24H TCE SERIES season in Misano after a (near) race-long scrap with Red Camel-Jordans.nl. Brutally, the Dutch team’s race came to an abrupt end less than four hours from home with drivetrain issues. A fault-free run for MONLAU, who would go on to secure that year’s 24H TCE SERIES’ TCR Teams’ title, consequently saw the Spanish team take the chequered flag 13 laps clear of a troubled field.

Similarly close but no cigar, Bas Koeten Racing powered by Kawasaki was on course to finish 2nd after Red Camel-Jordans’ woes, only for the gearbox to expire two hours from home. The #155 SEAT LCR TCR was eventually classified 7th overall, just ahead, ironically, of the Red Camel SEAT, and three spots behind the sister NKPP Racing by Bas Koeten Racing, whose battle-scarred SEAT took the final TCR class podium.

With Red Camel and Bas Koeten Racing struck down in the closing stages, beneficiary Wimmer Werk Motorsport eventually finished 2nd overall. The Austrian team steadfastly worked its way through the field from 8th on the grid to secure SEAT’s LCR TCR V3 a triumphant 1-2 finish in Misano.

Despite the Peugeot 308 Racing Cup qualifying on the back row, Semspeed completed a similarly impressive comeback drive to claim the final rostrum spot and take SP3-GT4 victory. A precautionary pit stop during the first hour, plus time lost in the pits to handling issues, meant overall polesitter, and eventual SP3-GT4 runner-up, CWS dropped to 5th overall at the flag, just ahead of CUP1 winner QSR Racingschool.

Ironically, despite suffering mechanical issues of its own early on, Team Le Mans Africa’s distinctively-liveried Ginetta G55 GT4 – driven by 24 Hours of Le Mans icons Emanuele Pirro and Jan Lammers, no less – went the distance on its 24H SERIES debut to prop up the SP3-GT4 podium.

Notably, Hyundai Motorsport entered its then-new i30 N TCR for its first endurance event at the 2017 Hankook 24H MISANO. Operated at the event by Hyundai customer BRC Racing Team, the i30 N was the only non-SEAT entry to lead the race overall, and even enlisted the services of future 24H SERIES TCR Drivers’ champion Antti Buri and two-time world champion in touring cars, Gabriele Tarquini!

Official track action for the 2024 Hankook 12H MISANO is scheduled to start with Free Practice from 12.00 hrs to 13.30 hrs local time on Friday 5 July. This will be followed later that same afternoon by Qualifying from 15.30 hrs onwards.

On Saturday 6 July, the green flag for the 2024 Hankook 12H MISANO itself will fly at 10.00 hrs. The race will then run for 12 uninterrupted hours until 22.00 hrs. Further details can be found HERE.
