Class A2: Top three Entire Racing from Denmark is the first of class A2, coming in 11th in the overal score. Right behind them on 12th place is Entire Racing from Denmark, and third in their class is JJF Competition. Class A3T: Top three The winner of the A3T class is Zengo Motorsport, coming in at 8th place overall. Tschornia Motorsport is close second on place 10, with Strategic Racing 1 on third place, closing the class. Class D2: Top three In class D2, the winner is BMW Team Hungary, closeley followed by Schubert Motorsport 2, who come in respectively in 6th and 7th place. Third place goes to place 21, Sport Team Italy. Class SP2: Top three In the SP2 class, the winner, and second in place of the overall classment, is Bovi Motorsport, nr. 75. Second place comes in the 9th place overall, TW Steel Ferrari with their Ferrari F430 Challenge. In third place comes VDS Racing Adventure, in nr. Class A5: Top three In the A5 class, Schubert Motorsport is the winner, Schubert is also the winner overall. Second place in this class is team nr. 15, Rotoma Racing and in third place is Povey Motorsport from the UK. Overall: Update in the dark By now, it is totally dark and we would like to keep you informed about the most interesting changes of the last laps. In the class A2 we can find Red Camel Racing back on the circuit after an unvoluntary break of 1,5 hours. A6 (up to 4000cc): Twilight is upon us! Two of the top four are right now in the pit lane. Jetalliance Racing seems to have a problem with the gearbox. Lammertink Racing with Toyo are doing a regularly tire change. A5 (up to 3500cc): Rotoma racing on the second position The Lithuanian team Rotoma Racing with the startnumber 15 is now on the second position within the class and on the 18th position in the overall classification. SP2-GT3A (special cars over 4000 cc) : Excitement in the upper classes 7 Hours in the race, and Bovi has just driven the fastest lap! A2 (up to 2000 cc) : New developments in class A2 Problems for Red Camel Racing and Bovi Motorsport 2 Overall: VDS Racing Adventures from position 14 to 8 Even if the top three in the overall field did not change within the last hour, some other interesting changes took place within the top 15. For example the team Schubert Motorsport 2 lost two position and had to give up their position. D2 (diesel up to 3000cc): BMW Team Hungary is leading in their class On the first position of the class we find the team BMW Team Hungary. They are situated on the 7th position overall with only 9 laps behind the leading car. A5 (up to 3500cc): The class is spread widely over the field So far everything seems to be working out for the team of the class A5. Schubert Motorsport 1 could defend his great position until now and Povey Motorsport is still working to approaching them. A6 (up to 4000cc): The Austrians keep on competing As expected Jetalliance Racing did not accept to be overtaken by its competitors easily. 4,5 hours after the start of the race, Jetalliance Racing is on the first position of the class A6 and on the third position overall. SP2-GT3A special cars over 4000cc: VDS Racing Adventures is the winner of the la The tables were turned within the last hour within the class SP2-GT3A. Bovi is still leading the class but the other four participants have changed their positions. A3T (Turbo engines up to 2500 cc) : Tschornia at leading position Tschornia's VW Golf R-Line currently leading the A3T class, yet Zengo has set the most impressive lap times A2 (up to 2000 cc) : Classification is going steady With Entire, Ataka & Red Camel Racing on 17, 18 and 19th position, class A2 is turning out to be an exciting battle! Overall: What happened after 3 hours? After three hours of the 24H Hungary the overall situation is the following: Schubert Motorsport 1 (A5) is leading just before Bovi Motorsport 1 (SP2-GT3A) and Hubert Bergh Motorsport (A6) who has overtaken several competitors within the last 2 hours A5 up to 3500cc: Schubert Motorsport 1 is leading the overall field Schubert Motorsport 1 is performing absolutely great. The driver Outzen is actually leading the field with the BMW Z4 M-Coupe which is classified A5. Really outstanding! A6 up to 4000cc: Jetalliance lost another position The Lechner Racing Team is still in front of the class. But now also Lammertink Racing with Toyo overtook Jetalliance Racing. Since we know the Jetalliance Team very well already D2 (Diesel up to 3000 cc) : Class D2 is performing outstanding With two hours of race action already passed, the BMW 120D is only 4 laps behind #1 Bovi Motorsport SP2- GT3A special cars over 4000cc: Some changes in the class positioning after 2 hours after the beginning of the race Bovi Motorsport 1 who is now in lap 59 can still keep his first position overall as well within the class. TW Steel Ferrari is now on the second position of the class since they over tool VDS Racing Adventures, Overview of the first 45 minutes Almost 45 minutes in the race and it's a very exciting time! A few teams cannot seem to get a break, like Thomas Betoh from Russia. D2 (Diesel up to 3000 cc) : The teams of the D2 fight hard for better positions The three teams of the class D2 are driving in the following order right now BMW Team Hungary, Schubert Motorsport 2 and Sport Team Italy. Within the overall field the Team BMW Team Hungary managed to overtake 3 cars and is on position 8 right now. A2 (up to 2000 cc) : Three teams of the A2 in the top 20 Bovi Motorsport 2, Red Camel Racing and Entire Racing manage to stay in the top 20 of the overall field. The lap times of these teams are about 2:10:00. Overall: The status quo after one hour After approximately one hour of the race we would like to provide you with a brief overview of the overall situation. The Lechner Racing Team has managed to overtake its competitor Jetalliance Racing A3T (Turbo engines up to 2500 cc) : Crashes for Strategic Racing and GENEX-GFS Accident occured between Strategic Racing 2 and GENEX-GFS 2 A5 (up to 3500 cc) : Team Viebahn/ Sorlie/ Outzen is performing excellently Schubert Motorsport 1 is just performing well. Being in the class A5 he is actually racing just in front of the fastest car of the category A6. A6 (up to 4000 cc) : Lechner Racing Team overtook Jetalliance Racing If we have a look on the participants in the A6 the order of the first three is Lechner Racing Team, Jetalliance Racing, Lammertink racing with Toyo. This means that Lechner Racing Team already managed to overtake Jetalliance. Pole position: Bovi Motorsport The pole position is led by Bovi Motorsport, where the Hungarian Istvan Racz will drive the first rounds. Let it rain? A small shock went through the crews and teams in the pitlane as raindrops fell from the sky a few minutes ago. Does it mean it's going to rain? Thomas Beton is back in the race Team nr. 39, Thomas Beton AST Racing, had trouble yesterday during the free practice. It turned out they blew up their engine, because they had problems with their turbo. Only a few more hours to go! In a few hours, the 2nd 12h Hungaroring will start! Teams and crews are excited, there's a friendly atmosphere, and the weather is very promising today. Everything points towards a great event. Results of the qualifying from all classes The first three of each class are the following: Overall: Bovi, Schubert and Jetalliance lead the qualifying The overall situation of the qualifying is right now, 5 minutes before the end, as follows: 1. Bovi Motorsport 1 from class SP2 (1:50:416), 2. Schubert Motorsport 1 from class A5 (1:51:692), 3. Jetalliance Racing from class A6(1:52:551). A5 (up to 3500 cc) : Schubert Motorsport 1 is standing in the pit Within the last minutes of the qualifying Schubert Motorsport 1 is, with the first position in the class, in the pit lane. Rotoma Motorsport is on the second position and Povey on the third. A3T: Zengo Motorsport does not participate in the qualification round anymore. In the A3T class, Zengo Motorsport is at first place, but have been in the pitlane for quite some time now. They are satisfied with their time, so they decided not to participate in the race anymore. D2: BMW Team Hungary is perfoming well on the Hungaroring At this moment in time, BMW Team Hungary is leading the class D2. The drivers in this car are : Lszlo Palik, Janos Vida, Csaba Walter, Gabor Weber. SP2: Is the first position in the SP2 already clear? 40 minutes to go for the qualifying and Bovi Motorsport is still leading A6: Jetalliance Racing and Lechner Racing Team are competing. Jetalliance ( 1:52:551) has driven the fastest lap time wtihin their class Lechner Racing Team (1:53:262) is right behind them. Free practice - the last minutes before the qualification rounds. The free practice is still going on right now, only a short time left for the official qualification rounds for tomorrow. One team has already had some real trouble, as Thomas Beton AST Racing has had some yet unknown problems with their car and is n Classic Car regularity race During the 12h Hungary, Historic Racing visited during the so-called Coppa Pannonia Regia event. This classic car rally features over 25 classic sports cars, which drove over the track this afternoon. Rent-a-car ride The rent-a-car ride is a regular part of the program. Hubert Bergh Motorsport Hubert Bergh Motorsport from Sweden is a loyal team, as they have been participating in Dubai since the very first edition in 2006 and is definitely trying to enter next year as well. This is, however, their first time in the 12h Hungaroring. VDS Racing Adventure The Belgian VDS Racing Adventure team drives the 12h Hungaroring for the 2nd time now, and they have already participated in Dubai 3 times, where they came in 2nd in their class (SP2) and 17th overall. Povey Motorsport Povey Motorsport is an all British team with three British drivers: Guy Povey himself, Clint Bardwell and Ian Donaldson. Lammertink Racing (with Toyo Tires) The Dutch Lammertink Racing (with Toyo Tires) team rides with a Japanese Driver, Yasushi Kikuchi. Tom Coronel and Henk Haane represent the Dutch part of the team, that has never driven on the Hungaroring circuit before, but did participate in Dubai b Tschornia Motorsport This German team has only drivers from Liechtenstein and participates in the A3T class. With their Volkswagen GTi, this is the first time they compete on the Hungaroring circuit, but they have participated in the 24h Dubai race before. PROEX Sport This Hungarian team has participated in Hungary last year as well and came in 9th place then. WRC Development WRC Development gave the organization a cake before entering this race. It was a nice gesture, but will it get them the first place? Lechner Racing This race is Lechner Racing's first time on the Hungaroring, but the team has competed in Dubai before and has a long history of doing endurance-races. Jet Alliance ready to race! Most of the teams are getting their things ready and have settled themselves in the pitboxes. One of those teams is Jet Alliance, who came in 3rd in last year's 12h Hungaroring. Welcome to the 12h Hungaroring! Welcome, teams and fans, to the 12h Hungaroring 2009! With the wonderful weather and the great atmosphere, this 2nd time Hungaroring is once again proving to be a great event. The organization is ready and several teams have already arrived! First attempt of bribary: WRC's cake In a feeble attempt to bribe the organisation, James from WRC Development Ltd. gave Creventic a Hungaroring shaped cake.
